NBC续订了Dick Wolf大神目前手里的全部四部剧集，这也让续订了第20季的《法律与秩序：特殊受害者》将成为美剧史上最长寿的剧情类剧集，与亲戚《法律与秩序》以及《荒野大镖客》并列。此前《法律与秩序》在第20季后被砍，未能超越《荒野大镖客》成为美剧史上最长寿的剧情剧，这次SVU有希望。

Netflix预定5集限定剧《意料之外的凶手 The Unlikely Murderer》，2021年播出。这部瑞典剧集为半虚构故事，基于Thomas Pettersson在2008年出版的书籍创作。Robert Gustafsson饰演平面设计师Stig Engström，他被认为很可能刺杀了瑞典前首相奥洛夫·帕尔梅。该剧讲述1986年帕尔梅遇刺后，Engström凭借大胆和幸运，以及警方在案件办理中的迷茫，成功逃脱了法律制裁，直到他死去。
