Netflix中文新片《彼岸之嫁》(小说《鬼新娘》电影版)宣布开机的同时，也发布先导预告。主演吴慷仁(《白蚁：欲望谜网》《下一站，幸福》)、黄姵嘉(《宝米恰恰》)、林路迪(《海王》)亮相，浓浓年代感。改编自美籍华裔作家朱洋熹的同名小说，故事混合了冥婚等中国民俗和浪漫爱情、超自然元素。设定在1890年代，殖民地时期的马六甲，讲述一个体面的华人人家的女儿丽兰因为家道中落，被要求去当富人家林家的“鬼新娘”——嫁给这户人家已死去的儿子。她能衣食无忧，但嫁给死人这件事将跟随她的余生，想逃走更加困难。此后，丽兰被卷入阴间，发现了“夫家”的黑暗秘密，也发现了自己家族的往事。马来西亚导演郭修篆(《光》)和何宇恒(《K女士》)执导。编剧团队来自好莱坞和台湾，领头的是《汉尼拔》《闪电侠》编剧之一Wu Kai Yu。上线日期尚未确定。

这部剧集是上世纪九十年代最流行的情景喜剧《Seinfeld》的主创之一拉里·大卫(Larry David)自编自演，根据他在洛杉矶影艺圈的生活创造的喜剧。他把《Seinfeld》的风格推向极端化。HBO因是有线电视所以不需要很大的观众圈，所以HBO上的剧集常常风格独具。《抑制热情》显得特别生活化，很是写意，有很多现场发挥，刚开始播时观众圈不大，之后开始名声见长。拉里·大卫凭此剧获艾美奖2000年度喜剧类剧集最佳男主角提名。
